This is our proposed national football pyramid — a fully connected Australian league system built on merit, opportunity, and true competition.
At the top sits the Australian Soccer League (ASL), where the first-placed club will be crowned Champions of Australia and awarded major prize money.
The club finishing last in the ASL will be relegated back to their home state league, keeping the competition dynamic and rewarding performance.
Across the country, every state and territory — QLD, NSW, NT, VIC, SA, WA, TAS, and ACT — will operate its own professional league.
The champion of each state will advance to a national Promotion Playoff Series, with the winner earning a place in the ASL for the following season.
This model creates a genuine pathway for every club in Australia, from local communities to the national stage, and delivers the promotion and relegation system fans have been waiting for.
